A neighbourhood eatery born out of frustration for today’s establishments shying away from offering well thought out, great tasting food on both sides of the dietary coin. Located in Devonport on the North Shore of Auckland, Vondel offers all day eating and drinking, featuring an ever-changing list of local and international craft beer, wine and spirits Established late 2017, the food offering changes seasonally, with a particular focus on local, ethical and sustainable produce from farmers we know and trust.

About the role

Vondel are looking for Chefs to come on board on wither a full time role or part time basis depending on your availability. Vondel’s menu has a range of options for both meat eaters and vegans, providing a great place for people to come together and be able to order according to their dietary requirements without having to ask for changes. You’ll be a creative thinker with a passion for good food, you’ll push the boundaries to create new dishes and you’ll work closely with the other chefs to provide perfectly executed food.

Open 7am til late week days and 9am til late on weekends; your shifts will differ each week and you’ll be given flexibility where needed if you have plans.

 Requirements

  • Final year or recent graduate of culinary arts or similar
  • Some relevant work experience is preferred
  • An upbeat positive attitude with a focus on quality and the desire for the highest possible standard
  • Punctuality, reliability, and excellent communication skills are a given - likewise excellent personal presentation
  • There is no room for old school chef egos here; only the desire to be a true team player
